Building Robust Data Foundations
For Students & Innovators

Help Gammon Construction develop and introduce new IoT and technology solutions that generate more detailed analytics to find new ways to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and reduce environmental impact, across their construction sites.

Our integrated business focuses on civil, building, foundations, electrical and mechanical, facades and interiors works and design, and our construction services division provides considerable plant and steel fabrication and concrete production capabilities. We have a strong building and information modelling department and a digital entity dedicated to furthering the commercial opportunities of our innovations.

Customer Focused At Gammon, we focus on our customers' needs and how we can best use our abilities and resources to add value for them through innovative and sustainable solutions. We pride ourselves on the imagination, skill and high standards we apply to all of our projects.

Local Presence, Global Strength We have an annual turnover of over US$2.5 billion, and employ over 7,000 staff, including one of the strongest technical teams in Southeast Asia. We are owned by Jardine Matheson, an Asian-based conglomerate with extensive regional experience, and Balfour Beatty, a world-class engineering, construction and services group.

THE CHALLENGE

The construction process is both technically and logistically complex. Gammon must manage a careful balance of four interacting, and competing, on-site elements that make up a build project – these are Labour, Plant/Equipment, Materials and Workflow.

Building on the success of a range of tech and data-driven innovations already designed, developed and implemented – including a blockchain-powered site inspection solution called Inspecto, a software robot using computer vision and AI named Gambot, and next-generation clean power for construction sites called the Enertainer, among others – Gammon Construction wants to keep introducing new solutions to find new ways to optimise the on-site elements, and also boost their four goals to deliver successful construction projects on time and on budget – which are: Safety, Quality, Productivity and Environmental impact.

Why does it matter?

Gammon wants to continue to be recognised and as a technology leader and partner of choice in the construction sector.

Gammon wants to be an employer of choice to attract the best new talent entering the sector and help upskill its current workforce in the adoption and use of digital technologies.

Gammon wants to continue to develop and implement transformative digital solutions to continue their strong safety record, enhance their competitiveness and point of difference in the sector.
